Hi, I am so glad you are here.
I’m a mom to a strong willed, smart, loving son, a wife to an amazing guy and passionate about teaching corporate moms like you how to create MORE resilience and security in your personal & financial future.
But more on that later.....
I grew up in Canada in a home with two loving supportive parents. Both of my parents worked hard in and out of the house and they were always there for me and for anyone who needed anything.
Growing up watching how their servant hearts impacted the people around us, left a large imprint on my heart.
We were not rich, my parents tried to provide everything they thought I needed as I was growing up. We went shopping once a year for new clothes for school, our vacations consisted of camping adventures and I was encouraged to play sports and learn how to play the piano and violin.
There were no arguments, I don't remember ever being told we don't have enough money to purchase more or do more things and if I am honest they really didn't talk about money at all.
.
As I was growing up a few things I was taught that shaped who I am today are:
1. I was taught at a very young age that I needed to work hard and give 100% at whatever I was doing.... I think I was the only 3rd grader doing homework every night.
2. I was taught if I started something, I had to see it through and couldn't give up in the middle.
3. I was taught that it is important to get a good education to get a good job to be happy, successful and to have a future.
4.
Looking back and knowing what I know now, I wasn't taught was about finances, passion, purpose, to dream and that dreams ARE attainable.
I did what I thought I was supposed to do, I went to University of Alberta Canada and received my bachelors, then I moved to the Minnesota where I got my Masters in Plant Breeding and Molecular Genetics.
After my masters I transitioned into working on my PhD, when I was offered an opportunity of a lifetime...to develop and run my very own Plant Breeding station. I couldn't believe it. I stopped the school visa I was on to transition to a work visa, I found a place to live in a new stated. Then 3 days before I was supposed to move the company called me and told me the completely closed the program down and I didn't have a job.
No school visa, no job, I had just lost everything!! I frantically sent out resumes and did land a new job with a Global company.
At the age of 32 I moved to St. Louis MO and started working my way up the Corporate ladder.
A young go-getter, corporate ladder sprinter.
I thought I had it all, great company I loved with great benefits and a multiple six-figure salary. But something didn’t feel right. My job fed my bills and soon to be family, but it didn’t feed my soul.
BUT THIS IS WHAT I WAS TAUGHT WAS THE ONLY WAY!
So I put my head down, worked hard and worked my way up!! Worn out, working long hours, and barley anytime for my son. I was a slave to my career, trading time for money.
I worked for the company for over 12 years. One day a new re-organization occurred and I was put on a team with a new boss, one of whom did not want to see me succeed. Yes I went and hired a lawyer and had all the necessary documentation for a case, but given the laws in the state there was nothing the lawyer could do.
I had to make a very hard decision to leave the company I thought I would retire from. I was faced with NO JOB yet again but this time I had a family to support..and I was faced with the COLD reality for the first time that hard work doesn't guarantee you anything and that no matter what you have given to a company they are not there to support you.
During my time off while I was searching for another job, a few things happened: I go to slow down and enjoy life, I was blessed to spend quality time with my son, and I was open to new opportunities that I don't think I would have been if it weren't for my situation.
I think all the moms out there can relate to being 'free' to really spend quality time with your children. But what do I mean about new opportunities?
Well I was introduced to e-commerce and started running my own business. I didn’t start because I thought I was going to make a million dollars. I started because it gave me JOY, I was in control, I could create and lead on my own.
After a while I found a new role and went back to working FT in the corporate world but kept working my business on the side. My e-commerce business provided me more personal development and a community of like minded people then any corporate role I have had. I have learned the importance of mindset, core values, dreams, residual income, financial freedom, time freedom and what is REALLY important to me.
I want something better for myself and for my family. Time goes by to fast not to be happy and enjoying life to the fullest.
I am now blessed helping other corporate moms wanting MORE....more creativity, more financial security, more time freedom to be with the ones you love, more health.. MORE!
Don't you want MORE!?
